why use a really dull track?

Because they can.

Because it's Fallon. Here's also their new Budweiser Spot

Because they can... what make a rubbish ad?

Haven't they just switched ash with foam and made a really nice version of the 9/11 disaster.

Those people covered in it remind me too much of that for some reason!

I just kept thinking that the foam would ruin those nice people's nice cameras.

Just had a flashback of a Ibiza 96, ropey foam party and a fat northern lass.

Manumission foam party sex shows. 2 blondes on acid going at it like there's no tomorrow, now that's an image like no other.

It feels like Fallon are happily perched on the top of their London advertising hill mindlessly chucking different things down it now, come on pitch for mini babybel and lets have a cheese rolling contest.

Anonymous said...

Surely this was what was happening on the other side of the hill a few years ago, just everyone was then and still is watching those pretty coloured balls.

When i saw the 'leaked' clips on youtube there was a shot where the sun hit the bubbles from behind and, as is the way with bubbles, all the colours of the rainbow emerged (yes, that even felt gay as i typed it). Wow, i thought: that's goign to make an amazing Bravia ad, and what a smart new way of doing colour. Turns out it's this. Shame.

I liked it very much. I immediately got that, I wish I had a camera feeling when I saw it.

The photo-op-of-a-lifetime-feeling.

Where something is unbelievable, it's not the same feeling as with the Bravia ads and it's not supposed to have it either I think.

Recycling St. Juan's idea is unforgivable. Shame on you Fallon.

Watched this a lot in the last 24 hours and it still makes me smile. I like it - wanted to grab a camera and get in there.

The director did that very similar orange ad with those blow up orange animals. This foam 'bath' is exactly the same and meaningless. Why didnt they do something narratively or more visually compelling. I know, why didnt they have a car chase through it with those dinky bob the builder 'trucks'racing through it? They could have had fountains of foam cascading down from a great height off very tall buildings, they could have had it pouring out of and leaving coloured foam trails from the back of cars and trucks? Anyone got any more imaginative ideas?

Would have been more interesting, fun and enjoyable to watch if they'd just ripped off themselves and poured MULTI-COLOURED foam down that SONY 'Balls' San Fran street. What an utter waste of an obvious idea and as for the soundtrack...

Anonymous said...

who gives a fuck?

Anonymous said...

Balls, without the colour but with a shite track.

Fail.

Anonymous said...

That has to be one of the dullest ads of the year. It is just so boring - the visuals are boring, the people are boring, the idea is boring and the music is boring.

It comes across as the sort of thing Grey would do for P&G as an attempt to copy Fallon's bouncy balls ad.

Did you see the foam party in this week's Gavin & Stacey? It was much more entertaining than this. Maybe the Fallon formula is starting to date? Next.

It's plagiarisms!

I bet Tide wish they had thought of that.

bad. but what's worse it's boring. and a waste of money.

It's worse than Sony Balls. And better than anything I've done so far this year. Anyone out there done better this year? A real ad, for a real client?

Crikey Waldemar, all that and still on the placement scene. What do you have to do to get a job nowadays!

Anonymous said...

Wal... Sheilas Wheels?

I don't think advertising is for you.

pointless crap

Anonymous said...

Pointless crap? It's an ad for cameras. It shows something beautiful - a photo op, if you will. And it shows people using the product. Whether or not you like it is another matter, but pointless crap it ain't.
